Early Beauty is a new variety of early-maturing black yangmei bred from the Biqi yangmei garden in Lanxi, Zhejiang Province using bud mutation. After years of cultivation and observation, it has been confirmed as a forest variety. Since 2006, Lanxi has developed this variety through seedling breeding and high-grafting replacement. In September 2013, it was approved and named by the Zhejiang Provincial Forest Variety Approval Committee.
